We don't offer Ruqyah on its own. After you book, our office discusses your concerns with the Raaqi before your appointment is confirmed.

What are Ruqyah and Hijama?

Ruqyah is the recitation of selected verses of the Qur’an and authentic supplications from the Sunnah, for spiritual protection, comfort and healing, by the permission of Allah. There is no one-size-fits-all recitation. The Raaqi listens to your concerns and the symptoms you describe, then chooses the verses and supplications, so the passages vary from person to person.

Hijama is a traditional cupping practice: controlled suction and, when appropriate, small, shallow incisions in the skin. We choose the treatment areas according to your concerns, your consent and whether cupping suits you. See the hijama process step by step.

Many Muslims describe a person as body, mind and soul. The body is our physical form. The mind holds our thoughts, emotions and well-being. The soul is our spiritual life and our relationship with Allah. When one is affected, the others often feel it too, which is why many people look for a session that cares for the whole person.

What happens during the combined session?

Before your appointment is confirmed, our team discusses your concerns with the Raaqi, to make sure the combined session is right for you and to plan it together. On the day, the session follows this order:

  1. Consultation and preparation. We go over your concerns, health history, medications, pregnancy, allergies, recent procedures and anything else that matters. We explain the process, the privacy arrangements and the treatment areas, and ask for your consent.
  2. Ruqyah recitation. You sit or lie comfortably while the Raaqi recites selected verses of the Qur’an and prophetic supplications. He may use a microphone so the recitation is clear throughout the session.
  3. Hijama. If it is suitable for you, hijama is performed on the chosen areas while the recitation continues. You can ask questions or decline any part of the session at any time.
  4. Aftercare. We give you water and dates or a light snack. Some people feel tired or drained afterward, others feel refreshed. If you’re not sure how you’ll feel, plan to rest and avoid demanding activities for the rest of the day.

The session is meant to support:

  • Spiritual comfort and reflection
  • Relaxation and emotional release
  • Traditional cupping-based wellness
  • Areas that traditional practice links with stress or tension
  • A renewed sense of balance and well-being
  • Personal prayer and connection with Allah

Some clients understand hijama, from a traditional spiritual perspective, as helping to release physical tension or harmful energy. These are traditional beliefs, not medically proven effects.

Who is the Raaqi, and what does he recite?

Our Raaqi is certified, and he conducts every session with respect for Islamic principles, your dignity, your privacy and your consent. The recitation may include:

  • Surah Al-Fatihah
  • Ayat al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255)
  • The closing verses of Surah Al-Baqarah
  • Verses about Allah’s protection and healing
  • Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas
  • Authentic supplications from the Sunnah

He may choose particular verses or supplications for your concerns and circumstances. He never promises a cure, never diagnoses unseen conditions, and never uses fear or pressure.

We don’t claim that the sound of the recitation heals disease by itself, or that Ruqyah replaces medical care. Ruqyah is an act of worship, supplication and remembrance of Allah, offered as spiritual support. Any healing is from Allah alone.

Why do we combine Ruqyah and Hijama?

Together they care for the body, mind and soul in one session. Hijama works with the physical body through traditional cupping. Ruqyah offers recitation, supplication, remembrance and spiritual support.

That’s why we only offer Ruqyah together with hijama, in one coordinated session, never on its own. Everyone’s experience is different, and we can’t guarantee any outcome.

Why do people seek Ruqyah?

People may come to us when they are living with:

  • Persistent fear, sadness or emotional heaviness
  • Disturbing dreams or trouble sleeping
  • Unexplained feelings of distress
  • Recurring anxiety or restlessness
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Loss of motivation or unusual withdrawal
  • Ongoing conflict in the family or in a relationship
  • A sense of spiritual weakness, or feeling distant from worship
  • Physical symptoms they are also having checked by a doctor

These experiences can have medical, psychological, social or spiritual causes. They should never be assumed to come from jinn, the evil eye, sihr or any other unseen cause.

What do Islamic sources say about these afflictions?

The Qur’an, the Sunnah and the scholarly tradition discuss several spiritual concerns:

  • The evil eye (al-’ayn). Harm linked to envy or an admiring gaze, by the permission of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said, “The evil eye is real” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim), and many scholars read Surah Al-Qalam 68:51 as referring to it.
  • Sihr (sorcery). Mentioned in the Qur’an, including Surah Al-Baqarah 2:102.
  • The whispers of Shaytan (waswasah). Harmful whispers and temptations, described in Surah An-Nas.
  • Jinn. The Qur’an affirms that jinn exist, including in Surah Al-Jinn.
  • Fear, grief and spiritual distress. The Qur’an and Sunnah guide us to patience, prayer, remembrance, supplication and seeking support in hardship.

We approach these subjects with knowledge, humility and care. No one should be told with certainty that they are afflicted by an unseen condition because of their symptoms or a Ruqyah session.

Who may consider this session?

You may want a combined session if you are looking for:

  • Faith-based spiritual support
  • Recitation and supplication chosen for your concerns
  • Traditional cupping as a complementary wellness practice
  • Support through an emotional or spiritual difficulty
  • A whole-person experience for the body, mind and soul
  • A coordinated session with a certified Raaqi

If you’d like ongoing support, we may suggest how often to come back, based on your needs, how you respond, your health history and whether continued sessions suit you. Regular sessions help you stay consistent with the practice. They are not a guaranteed cure.

How do you protect privacy for women?

For female clients, a privacy screen is placed between you and the Raaqi for the whole session. We encourage you to bring a mahram for support and comfort.

If you don’t have a mahram with you, our hijama practitioner stays in the room for the entire session. You’re also welcome to bring a trusted female friend or another support person.

Please tell our office about any privacy or support needs before your appointment, so we can arrange everything in advance.

How do I prepare?

  • Take a shower before your appointment.
  • Don’t eat for 2 to 3 hours before your session, unless a medical condition or your doctor’s instructions mean you shouldn’t fast.
  • Come with a good intention and a calm mind.
  • Wear comfortable, modest clothing that allows access to the treatment areas.
  • Tell us in advance about any medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, allergies or recent procedures, or anything else that may affect whether hijama suits you.

Is this session right for my health?

Ruqyah and hijama are complementary practices. They don’t replace emergency care, a medical diagnosis, prescribed medication, therapy or other professional treatment.

Please see a doctor or a mental health professional for symptoms such as severe depression, suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, seizures, unexplained bleeding, infection, severe pain or sudden changes in behavior. In an emergency, call 911.

Hijama is not suitable for everyone. Before you book, please tell us about bleeding disorders, immune-system concerns, skin infections, pregnancy, medications or any other relevant health condition.

How do I book a session with the Raaqi?

Appointments with the Raaqi are arranged only through our office. We don’t share his personal contact details, and he doesn’t take bookings directly. Book your session online or call us, and our team takes care of the rest.

Sessions are held only at our Richardson studio, Suite 127, 888 S. Greenville Ave., Richardson, TX 75081, and are confirmed once we’ve discussed your concerns and circumstances with the Raaqi. Directions and parking.

Our aim is simple: to care for the whole person while respecting both faith and responsible healthcare. Healing is from Allah, and our role is to offer respectful, informed and compassionate care.
