Hijama
Wet cupping, the Prophetic Sunnah
After gentle suction, small, shallow incisions let a small amount of blood collect in the cups. General Detox from $125, Deep Detox from $150.
Sunnah-aligned wet cupping with Esma El Merini, a board-certified holistic practitioner serving clients in Texas since 2014. Single-use sterile equipment, care tailored to you, and sessions from $75.
Hijama is the Arabic name for wet cupping. Cups placed on specific points create gentle suction, then small, shallow incisions let a small amount of blood collect in the cups. It is an ancient healing practice and a Prophetic Sunnah, practiced and recommended by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Many people use hijama to release tension and feel lighter, and researchers have studied cupping for circulation and pain.
Women, men and children, all treated by Esma, at our Richardson and Grapevine studios. Every session begins with a conversation about your health history, lifestyle and goals.
Every session is tailored to your body's needs and typically lasts 25 to 35 minutes. Women can add a soothing leg massage to any session for $50.

For care that continues
As a certified Hijama practitioner myself, I have intentionally received treatments from different practitioners over the years… I can confidently say that Esma stands out for her professionalism, knowledge, and exceptional client care.
This was my first time trying Hijama. The procedure didn't take long. She explained the process before starting. Her supplies and tools were clean and sterile. She was gentle, there was no pain.
It was our first time trying wet cupping so I was a bit nervous. Esma is very easy going and knowledgeable so there was nothing to worry about.
The cupping itself, which I have had done by different providers in the past, was very efficiently and hygienically performed… she was not pushy in any of her recommendations.
The place was very clean, professional, and welcoming. The therapist was knowledgeable, took her time, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole session.
This wasn't my first time, and it definitely won't be my last. Esma takes the time to listen and understand your concerns… I really appreciate her thoughtful care.
Esma is very professional and made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole session. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. Highly recommend!
A welcome atmosphere, clean, and modern equipment, and I have never felt rushed.
